Thanks to a generous donation from Kia Motors America, 16 eligible students enrolled at or attending an institution affiliated with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) will receive a scholarship of $4,000.
Kia announced its partnership with HACU earlier this month with a total donation of $75,000.
The organization is comprised of over 400 colleges and universities that have committed to focused efforts in supporting the success of Hispanic students as they pursue a higher education.
“Kia is committed to making a difference and being a respected global corporate citizen. Our new partnership with the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities aligns with our company’s drive to create a better future through education, and will provide much needed financial resources to college students across the country,” said John Yoon, Kia’s executive vice president for Human Resources, Administration, Diversity Relations, & General Counsel.
Students eligible for the scholarship have been accepted to one of the HACU member schools and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. First-generation college students are strongly encouraged to apply for one of the scholarships.
For more information on submitting your application for the scholarship, visit the HACU website. The deadline to apply is May 29th. If you apply, don’t forget to let us at Bill Walsh Kia know so we can be rooting for you.
