KBB Names Kia Vehicles Some of the Most Eco-Friendly Cars in America

Most Eco-Friendly Cars

Kelley Blue Book celebrated Earth Day this year by putting out lists of the most eco-friendly cars in America that are listed under $40,000. The lists featured hybrid, electric, and plug-in vehicles, and four Kia vehicles were named to all three lists.

Niro & Optima Hybrid

The Kia Niro and Kia Optima Hybrid, Kia’s two hybrid offerings in the small SUV and mid-size sedan categories, were both on the 10 Best Hybrid cars list. KBB cited the Niro’s outstanding fuel economy at 50 mpg combined and its classic SUV looks, while the Optima Hybrid was called “smooth driving.”*

Optima PHEV

KBB also named the Kia Optima PHEV to its list of the best plug-in vehicles. The Optima PHEV has an estimated range of 29 all-electric miles before switching back to hybrid gas power, where it gets 40 mpg combined.*

Soul EV

Finally, the Soul EV was named one of the top electric vehicles under $40,000. KBB editors liked the Soul’s 93-mile range as well as its short charging time and said that the Soul is “one of our favorite small cars.” The editors then went on to say, “The gas-free Soul EV is the coolest Soul of them all.”
